Giclée Printing
The
quality of original fine art prints with the convenience of digital
output.
Giclée
printmaking is a process created specifically for artists who need to
produce exceptional and consistent editions of their work, often in a
numbered series.
The
end result is a museum quality print at a much lower price than traditional
printmaking. This allows artists to easily market their work, expand their
portfolio and archive previously sold originals.
Our
Giclée prints also use inks that are archival and rated lightfast
for up to 200 years, insuring your prints will stand the test of time.
And with the Giclée printmaking process, the last printed piece
in an edition will be identical to the first.
- The Giclée
process starts with an extremely high resolution digital acquisition
of the original piece.
|
 |
- The file
is then calibrated by our expert technicians to match the original.
|
- Next, we
output the print to our digital printer on your choice of special
paper. The output process involves spraying microscopic droplets
of ink that produce no visible dot pattern.
|
- The final
output includes a gamut of millions
of colors - enough to reproduce most of the subtle tones and hues
of the original. This allows the Giclée process to produce
prints at a much higher level of quality than traditional print
methods.

About Matching Your Original
The
range of colors that can be reproduced by a particular combination of paper
and inks (or pigments/dyes) is known is the gamut.
The pigments used
in your original art have a unique gamut and the dyes used in the Giclée
Printmaking process have their own gamut which may or may not be able to exactly
match ALL of those colors.
TAYLOR
PHOTO uses materials that produce the largest gamut possible
to ensure that the final print is as close as possible to the original.

software. As with our color Giclée color prints, we offer a
variety of archival Somerset papers, availing photographers and artists
a wide range of choices. This system produces rich warm-toned black
