Giclée Printmaking
The quality of original fine art prints with the convenience
of digital output.
Giclée printmaking
is a process created specifically for
artists who need to make quality editions
of their work, often in a numbered series.
The end result is a museum quality print
at a much lower price than traditional
printmaking. This allows artists to easily
market their work, expand their portfolio
and archive previously sold originals.
Our Giclée prints also use inks
that are archieval-rated lightfast up
to 200 years, insuring your prints will
stand the test of time. Unlike traditional
printmaking, the last printed piece in
a Giclée edition will be identical
to the first.
The Giclée process
starts with a digital acquisition of the
original piece. The file is then calibrated
by our expert technicians to match the
original. Next, we output the print to
our digital printer on your choice of
special paper. The output process involves
spraying microscopic droplets of ink that
produce no visible dot pattern. Each droplet
can have over billions of colors - enough
to reproduce all of the subtle tonalities
of the original. This allows the Giclée
process to produce prints at amuch higher
level of quality than traditional print
methods.
Black and White Sundance Giclée´Prints
Our black and white Giclée
prints are made on the latest Epson printers
using Sundance Septone Inks and proprietary
R9 Pixel Picasso software. This system
produces rich warm-toned black and white
images that rival or surpass what is possible
with conventional fiber-based printing.
As with our color Giclée prints,
we offer a variety of archival Somerset
papers, availing photographers and artists
a wide range of choices.
